Wainhouse Tower above Halifax and the Calderdale valley

The programme

A clearer way to buy energy and build better.

Secure a competitive deal, keep the setup simple, and connect your organisation’s energy use to practical local change.

How it works

Simple enough to start. Serious enough to matter.

Grant eligibility depends on switching both gas and electricity. The six-month period begins when supply starts.

01

Get in touch

Tell us what you need from your energy supply, from procurement through to carbon and operational goals.

02

Receive a free quote and switch

Compare competitive electricity and gas pricing. Choose 100% renewable electricity as standard, or a non-renewable, standard-rate option.

03

Set up without the hassle

Your supply keeps running while the handover, billing, and next steps are handled with care.

04

Become eligible after six months

Once both supplies are switched and the fund conditions are met, your organisation can apply for an eligible energy-reduction or environmental project.

Commercial energy support

The practical work behind a better energy decision.

Choose the support your organisation needs. The commercial benefits stand on their own, before the community model begins.

01

Competitive supply

Compare electricity and gas options that work for your premises and priorities. Renewable electricity is offered as standard.

02

Bill validation & recovery

We check invoices, identify errors, validate VAT, and help chase suppliers for recoverable overcharges.

03

Energy efficiency

Practical recommendations shaped around your building, usage patterns, and environmental goals.

Community grant model

0.5p per kWh creates a route to measurable local change.

Only electricity use contributes 0.5p per kWh to the fund. Customers must switch both gas and electricity, then wait six months from their supply start date before they can apply, subject to the fund’s requirements.

Built for impact

Grants are only for energy reduction, environmental benefit, or sustainability projects: LEDs, insulation, heating controls, efficient equipment, appropriate solar PV, or energy-management systems.

Independently managed

The Community Foundation for Calderdale manages grant decisions independently. Hawley Energy has no say in outcomes, and grants cannot fund general business support or expansion.
